  • Weiss Lake Fishing Report - AL

WEISS LAKE IS AT 0 Feet 7 Inches BELOW FULL POOL AND CLEAR AND 84-86 DEGREE'S

Bass fishing is Fair and most bass are deep on their summer pattern, Weiss had a big Algae bloom over the past few weeks and it has started depleting the oxygen levels in the lake, so most fish are going to be lethargic, Jigs, Carolina rigged plastics, deep running crank baits and big willow leaf spinner baits slow rolled, are catching fish, the top water bite is on early and late also.

Crappie fishing is Fair and they are in deeper water on cover in the flats and the river channel ledges. Spider Rigging with live minnows over cover in 12-16 feet of water is producing some fair fishing. Night fishing under lights and on docks is producing some Crappie.

Striper fishing Good and they are being caught in the main lake on the old river channel ledges and in Little River and the lower Chattooga River, on live Shad down lined 8-12 feet and on flat lines.

Catfish are biting good in the deeper flats of the lake on cut bait.
