What a GREAT Summer it is and has been on Richland Chambers!!! As always the fishing has been good (and on many days it's just AWESOME) and we've been blessed to stay really busy fishing with Old Friends and New Customers! As the start of School nears, our business normally slows for a few weeks and then we get extremely busy as Summer turns into Fall. If you want to try and get one more day on the Lake in before the slow pace of Summer turns into the hectic times that School, Football, Activities, etc. bring, we can make it happen. Just give us a call and we'll go Catchin'!

The White Bass action in the early morning continues to be good with some Top Water action most days and then the majority of our fish are caught on RSR Slabs in water 15'-20' deep. Main Lake Points, Road Beds and Humps are the key to finding your fish. A Thermocline has set in for the Summer and fish that are in deeper water (30' or more) will be above the stratified water where their oxygen and temperature needs are being met. If you can find these deeper water fish, they can be caught by reeling a Slab up to and through the level where the Thermocline has set in. They're often bigger fish than you'll find in the Top Water Schools.

Check out the Hwy 309 Flats for some mid to late morning Hybrid Striper action! Go to the larger 2 oz. Slabs and fish the drop offs and ridges in the 20'-30' water near the Sand Bars. Hold on as you just might catch the fish of a lifetime! While these fish are more difficult to find and then get to bite, they always seem to have a good mid Summer flurry!

Crappie action is a bit slow, but it won't be long till we get to my favorite time to catch some of these tasty fish! I love September and October to target the Crappie. The cooler temps and Fall Feeding activity make them easier to find and catch! Check out the Hwy 287 Bridge Columns in 20' water and use small minnows. Bet you will catch a few!

Hope you are having a GREAT Summer too and we get to see you soon!
