LAKE HARTWELL IS DOWN 4.3 FEET, CLEAR & HIGH 70’S

Bass fishing is fair but the actions will pick up with the cooler weather. Top water baits are working for short periods during the morning, but not for long. Small bass are starting to chase the small Shad up to the surface and you can catch some of these fish on #7 Shad Raps in shad and the #10 X Raps in either the Olive Green or Moss Back Shiner colors. Spinner baits are starting to catch some of the bigger bass but you have to slow roll it along the ledges to be successful. A 7/16 to 1/2 ounce Strike King Redemption spinner bait in the blue shad or chartreuse white. Crank baits are starting to turn on as well, but expect the majority of the anglers to still be using those Carolina rigs with a lizard at the end.
