There's a time to fish a Snag Proof Frog, and then there's a time to try something else that may work even better with post front conditions. I got the opportunity to take my sponsor and owner of Snag Proof Lures out for a day of some great fishing on the "Big-G". I felt like the post front conditions and all of the rain beating down the mats over the weekend might make the early Snag Proof Frog bite a little slow, so I decided to talk these guys into fishing some swimbaits early and after the sun came up then go to "The Frog". They were all for something different and were just out to have a great time on the lake, and a great time we had! The fish were turned on early with swimbaits around scattered grass areas and we had a blast catching some good quality fish, and several of them. When the sun came up we went looking for some good mats to fish a Frog, and found several of these areas with some active fish, but not hungry fish. It seemed each area we went to the fish were active enough to put on a show by blowing up through the mats, but lacked in hooking up from not wanting to engulf our Frogs. We still ended up with several fish on a Frog, but just could not get that "Big-Un" we were looking for. We still had a fantastic time on the water and got to enjoy some good fishing on the "Big-G". The mats are a little thin right now, but with the clear sun shiny skies we have this week the mats should get back to normal pretty quickly. The Snag Proof Tournament this past Saturday had a great turnout despite the weather conditions with 107 boats. We all appreciate Snag Proof Lures along with Goose Pond Bait, Tackle, and Grill for putting on a great, smoothly run tournament with a great product in Snag Proof Lures. Get out and have fun.
