    The lake is at 355.10
Water Temp is in the 70

It’s fall fishing for sure on Kentucky Lake. The fishing has been steady with some days better than others, it just depends on when these fronts hit. Being on the water every day I can sure see the difference a northern wind (front) can make on the bite and bait activity. I have been fishing two patterns this fall. One is in the back of the creeks, looking for active fish feeding on shad; I am fishing a super spook in shad patterns. One of my favorites has been Bag5baits.com, Ghost Blue Glimmer on sunny days and a shad pattern with a white belly like the Blue Glimmer on cloudy days. Another bait I’m fishing is a ZOOM Fluke in green pumpkin magic, Fishing it on a Lews spinning rod and Seaguar Braid weightless.

My second pattern is fishing the outside edge of the grass with a ½ ounce Rat L Trap in shad patterns, again my favorite color here in the fall is Bag5Baits.com Blue Glimmer. I am fishing it’s on a glass Lews rod with 15 lb Abraz X Seaguar fluorocarbon. It’s important to keep the bait in contact with the top of the grass, just figure out your retrieve on these areas and keep the bait in contact with the grass. You want to rip the bait free from the grass as it snags in the taller pieces of grass. This will cause a reaction bite to even on inactive fish. I also like to flip grass this time of year; I usually will look for deeper grass in 4 to 6 ft depths and use a ¾ ounce Pro Tungsten weight and 25lb test Seagaur Abraz X fluorocarbon. My favorite bait to flip in the fall is a ZOOM, Z Craw, Baby Brush Hog, and a Z Hog. I will use Blue Sapphire, Green Pumpkin and Green pumpkin/purple green this time of year. I want to point out the importance of a ¾ ounce Pro Tungsten weight, if I’m using a ½ ounce the bait will not fall to the bottom in the thicker grass clumps. If it falls, and hangs in top of the grass then you’re never presenting your bait to the fish. This is where a ¾ to 1 ounce weight in a must.

Learn and get confidence by catching fish on the ledges
If you’re new to Kentucky Lake or just haven’t been able to figure out how to fish the hundreds of miles of ledges that it has to offer. Then this class is for you. Fishing the ledges is something a lot of anglers struggle with. Understanding what ledges hold fish, when they hold fish and why they hold fish is something I can teach you. I will help you eliminate 90% of the lake in a short time. See what type of areas hold fish and how to find the bait.
