  • Captain Jim's Cumberland Lake and River Report

Hello to all my friends and readers! Captain Jim here!

I am blessed to be (living the dream!) able to advise you that the fishing still remains unsurpassed on the Cumberland River down in TN. We once again caught numerous river monsters during the last few days, with the SMALLEST Striper at 39 inches long and 34 pounds, with the largest fish 46 inches and 44 pounds!

    Can you say happy customers!!!

The Trout (the bait we use in the river) are still really tough to catch out of the river now and will be from now on for a good while. I am still hauling Trout from a Trout farm over towards Nashville for bait for our trips. Expensive for me, must I do this so our clients can have a chance to catch the largest Stripers possible!

I will be posting some videos of customer “river” catches soon!

These huge fish are so beautiful in the water! All of the Stripers in the attached photos were released back into the Cumberland River. I very carefully handle these fish when I release them back into the river, holding their heads and tails and working them back and forth getting water to their gills until they flex and break / swim away!

Please enjoy the photo below of long time StriperFun customer Jim Clark with his 40 inch 35 pound beauty! Photographed and released!

Please see above also the photos of the Bill Chirpas group (Bill and his brother Gary!). Gary caught a massive 46 inches 44 pounds behemoth he could barely hold up (look at the gut on that fish!) as well as a 40 inch 35 pounder Striper. Bill caught a great 39 inch 34 pound Striper as well! All photographed and released!

The Cumberland River fishing in TN remains "red hot" and we are booking up!!! Come see me!!

    Sincerely,

    Captain Jim Durham
