  • Weiss Lake Fishing Report - AL

WEISS LAKE IS AT 2 FEET 8 INCHES BELOW FULL POOL AND CLEAR AND 62-64 DEGREE'S

Bass fishing is Good with the cooling trend, and a lot of fish are being caught shallow in 3-6 feet of water. The shad are moving to the back of the cove's and creeks and some good Bass are starting to move to secondary points and shallow road beds, following the bait fish. Shallow running crank baits are working well, and Rat L Traps, Spinner Baits are also producing some fish. The top water bite is good early and late also.

Crappie fishing is Good and they are being caught on structure on the Coosa river channel ledges in 12-18 feet of water. Spider Rigging with live minnows over cover in 12-18 feet of water is producing some good fishing. I am starting to see a lot of quality 12-15 inch crappie. Shooting docks with jigs is producing some good crappie also.

    Striper fishing is Poor

Catfish are biting good in the deeper flats of the lake on cut bait
