LAKE GEORGE IS DOWN .2 FEET, MID 70’S & CLEAR

Bass fishing is fair. There is a shallow bite but with a few cold fronts use the spoons in deeper water. The early morning grass bite has been the really only reliable bite going, and it seems to be over after mid morning. Top waters and soft jerk baits worked in the shallow grass and willow snags have produced fairly well. Shallow ledges and secondary points are producing and use the mid range crank bait like a Mann’s 15+ or a DT6. Look for drops that top out from 4 to 8 feet deep. If the crank bait bite isn't working get out the Carolina rigs on these same drops. Also try fishing the very backs of the creeks and pockets with spinnerbaits and shallow crank baits. If you just want to catch fish, one major key is to make sure that you are throwing some sort of shad pattern. The deeper bite has been off and on. Be sure to keep a Rat L Trap handy.
