The weekly rains have Richland Chambers Lake very stained on the Main Lake and downright muddy up the Creeks. Water temperature is in the low 60's and will continue to chill down as we receive more and more Cold Fronts. Fishing for the White Bass, Hybrid Stripers and Crappie has been almost non-existent with all the fresh water but.......

Whether it's quantity or quality you want on a fishing trip, it's hard to beat Catfishing on Richland Chambers this time of year! The Channel Cats normally provide all the action you want and on almost every trip, someone hooks into a Big Blue! Seems that the cooler the temperatures, the better the bite. We catch all our Cats on Danny Kings Punch Bait on a # 4 treble hook in timbered areas of the Lake. Water depths will vary, but the more you move into Winter, you will almost always find the Catfish in 15' to 20' feet of water.

The morning bite is very good, but you can also count on an afternoon bite when the Winter Cool Fronts lower the temperatures. We often start our trips a little later, avoid the coolest part of the day and enjoy a midday bite on a pleasant 70 degree day. It's great for a Family outing and Kids like it because the action is fast and they know they might just hook into that "River Monster" they've seen on TV!
