    Pickwick Lake Elevation 411
    Water Temp. 56
    BASS
You can catch severalsmaller fish in some shallow grassy areas. A good all around bait right now isa Red Eye Shad by Strike King in 3-5' of water. Most of the mattedgrass has died down now, but there is still a little beneath the surface. Bassfishing in these old grassy areas should remain good throughout the rest ofthis month. As far as fishing goes below the Dam, numbers are down butsize has been a lot better. I have caught a lot of bass ona Series 3 crank baits, white with red eyes and baby bass(color) have been working well over the past week. Smoke colored grubs andcotton candy colored grubs have also been big producers of smallmouth and spottedbass in the river. Most fish in the river have been caught along the bank, within a few feet of it.

    Whitebass
White bass are still along the banks in the Shiloh area. If you fish alongthe bank with a small crankbait or small grub you are sure to catch plenty ofwhite bass. They are also on the ends of most of the island areas as well.

    Stripers
Stripers are still harder to catch right now and will just gettougher. I would focus on drifting live bait on the bottom or using livebait on split shots and let a lot of extra line out.

    Sauger
Sauger have started off a little slow so far. I have caught a few in theShilow area and in the Savannah area. I like to us a standard Sauger jig and aplastic trailor in lieu of a live bait.

    Catfish
Catfish are still biting good in some areas, I like to use nightcrawlers andred worms. We even catch a few while sauger fishing with minnows. We have beencatching a few in the 15-20' range and some have come out of deeper water.
