  • Richland Chambers Fishing Report - TX

The Catfishing continued to be very good on RC last week as I was able to fish on Thursday, Friday and Saturday with long time friends and Customers who love the Fall as much as I do! David Bristow joined me on Thursday and we "baited holes" and then did some Catfishing for our own future Fish Fries! In a couple of hours we put around 15 nice Channel Cats in the Ice Chest. On Friday, John and Tony Jenkins (Brothers from Houston and Ft. Worth) met me for a late morning start as it was around 35 degrees and chilly for a change. We fished from 10AM to 2PM and had a 50 fish limit of Blues and Channel Cats to show for our efforts! Then on Saturday Morning, Mike Rhoden and Son John from Belton did their annual Fall trip and we kept 37 really nice Channel Cats for their Family Fish Fry! Great Fishing with Great People!!!

All our fish came from areas where I have "Baited" with a 5 gallon bucket filled with Range Cubes. I drill 1/4" holes in the bucket, tie it off to a tree, sink it, and the cubes dissolve over a period of a few days. The Catfish are attracted to the area. I usually throw out a little sour maize when we first arrive and you know within a few minutes if the Catfish are around. If we haven't caught any fish in 10 minutes or so, I move to another baited area. We fish with Danny Kings Punch Bait on a #4 Treble Hook. Lately we're catching most of our fish in water depths of 15' -25'. Lots of FUN and GREAT EATING!

Adam and I have openings the week between Christmas and New Years and the weather looks pretty good in the Long Range forecast. Give us a call and We'll Go Catchin'!

Have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
