LAKE OCONEE IS FULL, 85 TO 90 DEGREES

Bass fishing is fair. The lake is full, clear on the main lake stained up the rivers. Fish the lower lake humps with a large crank bait. A Normans DD22 in a shad pattern or a black silver, blue silver pattern have been working over the past week. Also a Carolina rig fished off the same humps will also draw a strike. Use a dark 6 inch worm. You can still find a few fish under deep water docks, on the main lake. Fish a shaky head with a craw trailer.

Striper/hybrid report by Mark Smith of Reel Time guide service. Phone 404-803-0741 or reeltime@bellsouth.net.

Striper and hybrid fishing is slow. Some fish are still coming on umbrella rig fished off of the humps in the mid part of the lake. A few fish are hitting top water early and late in the day. A popping cork with a small trailer has been the best producers.

Crappie report by Mark Smith of Reel time guide service. Phone 404-803-0741 reeltime@bellsouth.net

Crappie fish is good. Use your Lowrance to locate the schools of crappie in the timber. When you locate the school drop a minnow down to the fish and they will bite. You need to stay right on top of the fish they will not leave the tree to feed. Most of the schools are between 10 and 20 feet deep.
