After a couple of weeks of Cold, Wind, a little more rain and the days really feeling like Winter , I managed to get a couple of fishing trips in. This time of year we often cancel or reschedule due to Mother Nature but on these two trips, I had Customers who REALLY WANTED to get out of the house! So we did and the Fishing Report I have for you is a bit different than those you've read recently!

When the temps start dipping into the 30's we normally start around mid morning and fish till mid afternoon , and this was the case on both trips. Still, on Saturday's trip it was a chilly 40 degrees at 10AM and wind chill in the 30's. A GOOD FISHING GUIDE has a myriad of excuses when the fish don't bite and I HAD TO USE THEM ALL recently! Could have been the COLD, maybe the WIND, possibly the FULL MOON, or maybe the CALM WHEN THE WIND DIED, or better yet the HIGH BAROMETER, and let's not forget BLUEBIRD SKYS! Bottom line is that we burned a lot of gas looking for a hungry Catfish and baited a lot of holes and still only managed 22 fish one trip and 18 the next! Adam and I have some of the GREATEST CUSTOMERS as we still had an enjoyable day on the water, caught just enough Keepers for a Fish Fry and even talked about scheduling the next trip when it warms a bit!
