The night bite has finally picked up. It was very slow during the waxing moon. But once the moon got full, the fish finally started biting. The last couple of nights were much better than last weekend. And the fish are fighing as hard as they do at any time of the year. Last night, they were flopping so hard it was a challenge just getting the hooks out without dropping them.

We're catching most of our fish in 8-10 feet on some type of offshore shallows near deep water. Best baits are big worms (like the new 9" fat culprit) and 4" craw worms. Best colors are green pumpkin, blue fleck, black/blue, black/red flake, and June bug.
The daytime bite improved when we had the cool front blow through. But temps are back to normal and the night bite is better (especially with the full moon). When this full moon phase is over, I expect to go back to daytime fishing almost exclusively. I expect we are just about done with the near 100 degree days.
