It has been gorgeous weather this week on the Treasure Coast. Light winds and warmer temperatures have given anglers a chance to enjoy some great fishing action around the area. Fort Pierce has been busy lately as anglers seem to be flocking here to avoid the polluted waters coming into the St. Lucie River. Water temperatures have climbed up to the low seventies with all the sunshine and the fish have been happy. Enjoy a day on the water soon!

It has been a good mix of fish this week and lots of excitement and action for our anglers. Fishing docks and channel edges have produced sheepshead, drum, snapper and croakers. Grass flats have yielded trout, pompano, jacks and ladyfish. Try the DOA Deadly Combo this time of year when fishing the grass flats. The inlet will be holding mackerel, jacks and ladyfish. Will and Jean were out with me for several days and caught lots of croakers, sheepshead, whiting and other species to make for some fun fishing on some windy days. Keith and Bob caught trout, ladyfish and the usual assortment of fish to make for an enjoyable morning. Mike found sheepshead, croakers, snapper and snook on the catch list for his morning on the river. Rick and my grandkids, Chloe and Brody, found a good bite to keep their rods bending with croakers, whiting, sheepshead and snapper. The kids counted over fifty fish that they caught that morning. It was another fun week on the water.

I think that winter is finally losing it's grip on the area. It's been a mild winter with lots of wind and the fishing has been outstanding again this year. Expect some good fishing action the rest of March. Many of these fish are in to breed this time of year and they will be hungry as well. Use plenty of sunscreen to prevent sunburns. After wearing warmer clothes most of the winter, you can easily burn now that shorts n flip flop weather is back. Enjoy the great weather and sunshine and get out fishing soon!
