I have been fortunate enough to make a life long past time into a livelihood. I am on the water every chance I get to try and stay keyed in on the almighty striper and to ensure limits of fish for each and everyone of my customers. However, the occasional tough days do happen, it is fishing, I give my word that I will do everything in my power to ensure that you and yours catch fish!
Well finally the bite is heating up! We have caught tons of fish this week shallow mid creek to the mouth in huge schools! We seen one of the largest schools I've ever seen in march today that on the side scan was over 175 feet wide and 40 feet deep. I'm sure this cold weather moving in for a few days will slow the bite a little but it should do nothing but get better from here on out. Most fish seem to still be staging in open water anywhere from 10-20 feet deep. Bait has been tougher on the east end the last few days but with the fish biting the way they currently are, you don't need much anyways. I do not bass fish myself but I talk to many that do and it is heating up as well. We've caught several lately around submerged trees in 20-30 feet of water vwry shallow. We're seeing lots of fish in the 30"-34" range which is great. All female striper, crappie and bass are full of eggs and ready to feed. It's really shaping up to be an awesome spring! Crappie bite has been good in the heads of the major creeks in 10-15 feet of water fishing 5-10 ft deep around submerged timber as well. With the abundance of submerged bushes and trees now don't spend too much time in one spot. The crappie are moving around a lot right now as well. Good luck and good fishing to everyone!
