  • Little Miss Judy Too

I found this old photo: and let’s see…this is our dock house which is where the Miss Judy Too is tied up right now! The only reason we still don’t have it is because strong winds of one of the hurricanes knocked it down and daddy did not replace it! This is so unfortunate for me! I remember playing in this old dock house and jumping off the top of it, when dear old dad wasn’t watching! It has benches all the way around it, which meant there was plenty of lying down or sitting up room! The only thing out of place would be that cooked lobster sitting on the bench. I got no clue where it came from, but if I had to guess….dear old daddy went to cooking and wanted show off to someone most likely a woman. And if I had to guest he either told her he caught it by hook and line or that he did a little deep sea free diving! Of course, without tanks! And if he was drinking a few Sherman Shooters the conversation of catching these rascals most likely got even better! We used to eat lobster all of the time! As I can remember they were sent to our house already cooked and all we had to do was warm them up! If you have been following my stories you already know that daddy brought everything by the case. When it came to lobsters I guess he brought them by the dozens…or should I say, “He caught them by the dozens!”

A Great Deer Old Fish Story
I had to share this one with you! It’s going down as the story of all stories! It starts out with this hunter that was deer hunting. Supposedly after a while of “no deer’s to be seen” the hunter decided to take a nap. While having his eyes closed in the background he heard a noise that sounded like a stampede of sorts. The bottom-line to this situation was that with the hunter being half asleep he thought he was dreaming. When he finally got his eyes open he found that is was faced with quite a sight. Upon opening his eyes he saw a big 7-point plus buck headed his way. Knowing at that exact moment that he didn’t have time to get his gun, aim, much less fire, he quickly removed his knife, and held it up. As the buck jumped right over his head the knife went into the deer’s gut.

The hunter jumped up to see the direction in which the wounded now bleeding buck headed. Over the hill and to the lake he followed the blood trail. As he looked up he saw the big buck lying stone dead right by the water’s edge. He couldn’t believe his eyes. He moved in for a closer look. The buck’s head was lying in the water. He reached down, grabbed the unbelievably large rack, and pulled it up so as to get a better look. All he could think was how great a story this was going to be. He had exactly killed the largest buck of his lifetime with one small stick of his knife. What a great deer hunting story that he would have to tell all of his buddies! As soon as he raised the buck’s head he got yet another large surprise. There was a 6-pound largemouth bass skewered by the buck’s large rack. Now he knew for sure that no one not even himself could believe that this actually had happened! What do you think did this happen or not?

It is my opinion, since I have had a story or hundred that possibly would fall into this category, that there is a chance that they really did happen. After all, like I always say, “I/he couldn’t have made this us, because we are not that smart!”

    Thanks for reading! Captain Judy
