LAKE HARTWELL IS FULL, CLEAR, 60’S

Bass fishing is good. There are bass and bait all over the banks and sand bars. Fish the any pocket or secondary points to find the shallow fish lake wide. Cranks and spinnerbaits will be the best baits for the bigger fish but also try the Alabama rig anywhere on the lake. Spawning will kick in a week. Spend as much time on the lake as possible and work the banks. Use a shad colored Shad Rap and the bright fire tiger color. Buzz baits with the double blades and Zara Spooks in bone are starting to turn on while making very long cast to the one foot or less of water in the back of coves. Some of the larger bass are killing these baits early in the mornings. The jig bite is just starting to happen while pitching or flipping into real heavy cover. Find the biggest group of small trees and bushes that come together near a point or small bowl area. Put the jig right in the middle and work it slowly until all the cover is worked well.
