What a FUN week and it was also the first week this Spring that we were able to get ALL our trips in! The weather cooperated for the most part and on the couple of days the WIND was just too strong to get on the Main Lake and fish for White Bass, we found a protected shoreline and caught Catfish! The White Bass and small Hybrid Stripers are showing up at the regular locations (Pelican Island, 309 Flats and just about any Wind Blown Point) but the larger Hybrids are yet to make an appearance. We are literally catching hundreds of undersized throwback Hybrids each trip along with various sizes of White Bass. Lots of FUN and our Customers are going home with plenty of fish for a good Fish Fry!
It won't be long before reports of Magnum White Bass and Keeper Size Hybrids will start coming in! My prediction is this coming week as my 2015 Calendar showed it was on April 13th last year that "Fishing Broke Loose" and we off and running for a great Spring! Our bait of choice this past week was a 1 oz. RSR Chartruse Slab with a Teaser Fly tied about a foot above the Slab. You can get both these baits from RSR Lures ( www.rsrlures.com ) and catch two fish at a time! For the Catfish, it was Danny Kings Punch Bait fished on a #4 Treble Hook in timbered areas in around 25' FOW.
Adam and I have May Weekday openings and even a boat still available over the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend. Give us a call and Let's Go Catchin'!
