    Gulf Stream

All I can say is it is time to go, because there are lots that know!

Let see what do I know about this picture? Well, Captain Ryan Howard and fishing crew once again went a blue water catching. And Miss Mila is guarding their catch. Now, Miss Mila (Daniel Owsely’s dog) is not a regular dog she is a Belgian Malinois! And what are these dogs trained to do? These dogs are trained for military use, police use, and for sniffing out bombs. And when I say guarding the fish that is exactly what she is doing!
Early this past week the team made it out to the stream and as you can see they had a pretty good catch. Proving once again that it is time book a Gulf Stream trip now! By the way Miss Mila didn’t go!

Look for that prefect blue water finger!

Cole aka “Hollywood” is looking for fish and Joseph aka “Tadpole” is dreaming about them!
Captain Mike and Cole “Hollywood” Yarbrough on Spear’m Deep shows us the big catching way!

Inshore Catching with Captain Matt Williams

While inshore fishing with Captain Matt Williams of Miss Judy Charters Brian and Early Auty had one heck of a catching day! They went two days in a row! On their first day the high winds took a toll on the fish bite. When the second fish day rolled around winds had calmed making the fish a little more willing to eat!

Little Miss Judy’s Believe It or Not Story!

Captain Sherman I Helmey is at the helm of my old wooden boat Miss Judy.

    Camera in head
    Heads Up!
During the fifties, my father’s large wooden yellow boat could and did accommodate up to fifteen fishermen. You called, booked a spot, arrived that morning, got on the boat with an assortment of different minded fishermen, and off to the fishing grounds you went. Back in the old days I don’t remember Daddy telling anyone much about anything in regards to the boat. However, he did tell everyone about the head, also known as the bathroom on shore. It was short and to the point. It went something like this. Don’t put anything in the head unless you have eaten it first. There wasn’t a trash can so all thing used or not were thrown directly out the open window located in the head!

As I wrote this I remembered spending a lot of time in the head just looking out the window. I am having all sorts of visions and memories, which I don’t want to share at least at this moment. I always like to watch the crowd as Daddy explained how to use the head. There were always lots of funny looks and expressions. It’s almost like you weren’t suppose to talk about the allusive “poo poo!” At any rate, according to my father all fishermen have to do this at one time or the other. As a child, I really never thought about it that way until it was openly explained.

My father had this game he would play especially when he had couples on board. He told them that he had a camera in the head, because it was due to coast guard regulations. In fact, he told them that when they went inside to listen for the clicking sound, because it was the camera taking their picture. Back in the good old days I don’t remember anyone complaining as they would have now about the old camera trick. Daddy could in fact make this noise that he talked about, because I remember hearing it as a child. He talked about taking pictures, but I never even once saw any of those so-called bathroom shots! After thinking about it I certainly would have liked to see what exactly went on in the old head with fisherman knowing or thinking that their picture was being taken.

    Thanks for reading! Captain Judy
