LAKE WEISS IS AT 0.23 FEET ABOVE FULL POOL AND STAINED AND 82-84 DEGREES BY MARK COLLINS GUIDE SERVICE

Bass fishing is good and some bass are still shallow. With all the rain keeping the water temperature down and high oxygen levels, a lot of fish are staying shallow. They are on docks, sea walls and rip rap rock some fish are still being caught in the grass early and late. Anywhere there is rain run off coming into the lake you can find these areas holding good bass. Yellow Creek Falls and culverts are good areas. Jigs, worms and shallow running crank baits and spinner baits are catching a lot of fish. A lot of fish are now being caught on the creek and river channel ledges 8 to 12 feet deep on crank baits, spinner baits and Carolina rigged plastics. The Bass really seem to be scattered and on several different patterns, due to the cooler than normal water temperature.

Striper fishing is good and they are at the Cave Hole in Little River and Little Spring Creek and the Chattooga River. Live shad down lined 8 to 10 feet deep and Shad on a flat line behind the boat is the way to catch these fish.

Crappie fishing is good and the crappie are holding on brush, stumps and man made cover in the flats in 8 to 12 feet of water. The river and creek channel ledges are not producing any fish, due to the fast current. If the rain quits for an extended period look for a lot of crappie to move to the ledges. Spider rigging with live minnows is the way to catch these summer time crappie. Shooting docks with a 1/24 ounce Jiffy Jig is still producing some crappie. Crappie are still being caught around the docks and the night fishing is really good also. A lot of fish are holding on bridge pilings also, Yellow Creek bridge, Cowan Creek bridge and Spring Creek bridge. Look for these patterns to hold over the summer.
