Fishing on Kentucky Lake is really good right now. With the spawn pretty much done the bass have moved out on the ledges. If an angler likes to flip he can still catch a few nice fish on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes. But the majority has moved out to the ledges.
The Flipping bite I’ve been flipping ZOOMs Super Speed craw and Baby Brush hogs, in green pumpkin, green pumpkin purple, Okeechobee craw something that will look like a small blue gill. These males are still guarding fry and these colors look like a small bluegill. I’m using a 7’ 6” Lews rod and high speed reel with 25lb test Seaguar Fluorocarbon and a ½ ounce Pro Tungsten weight.

The ledge bite I’ve been fishing secondary and main lake ledges. If there’s some current I’ve been able to catch fish on a deep running crankbait. If the current is slow I had to fish a ¾ or 1 ounce jig with a ZOOM Z Craw Jr. for a trailer. Swim Baits have been good, the LBA swim bait in shad patterns on a ¾ ounce lead head, also with a big spoon.
