I want to first say that my partner Tracy Robinson and I had an absolute great time fishing the Foodland Bass Tournament on the "Big-G" yesterday. We caught some serious quality fish on Producer Swimbaits and Choo Choo Rocker Jigs, and even culled a couple of 5 lbrs. to have a final 3 fish limit of 18.36 lbs., which got us a 5th. place finish. This was a strong finish for any lake, but on the "Big-G" you never know what to expect at the scales. I want to congratulate the winners Brian Gregory and Marshall Deakins with an outstanding 3 fish limit of 20.92 lbs. along with 1st. place big fish of over 8 lbs. There were 2 more limits of over 20 lbs. and one over 19 lbs. This turned out to be a great tournament with a great turnout of 200 boats, and an even better turnout of some great bags of "Big-G HAWGS", WOW!!! Now today I had a couple of gentlemen that wanted to learn a few places to fish during their weekend stay here at the Big-G. They started out swimming Choo Choo Jigs around some deep grass and these guys had some good success while I sat in the boat and nursed my wounds from yesterdays tournament. We stayed with this pattern through most of the day and with the bite seeming a little slower they still managed to get a few for some pics and a few areas to go back to and have a great time. The Milfoil and Hydrilla seem to be coming on great with the warmer weather. There are a lot of shallow humps showing grass on top and just underneath the surface. These kind of areas can be great when waking a Bull Shad Swimbait along the edges. It's hot and there are a lot of pleaure boaters on the lake, so get out and have some fun but most of all, "BE CAREFUL". Mike Carter
