Bass fishing is good. The water remains high and the fish are continuing to get deeper than in weeks past. We have been catching fish on a pearl white flukes early, as well as a new Bite size herring Swimbait in the blue back herring color worked fast. We have also got a few nice fish on a deep running crank bait like the Spro Little John DD in Spook Nasty color. When the bite slows, switch to a drop shot finesse worm in Morning Dawn Red, a green pumpkin craw jig, or a Fish Head spin in albino color for numbers on spotted bass. If you are back in the creeks try a swim jig in bluegill color and a black popping frog next to shore line cover in backs of pockets that offer a little deeper water and a good concentration of submerged grass. Rick is available for Guide Trips on Hartwell daily. Come fish with the local legend on Lake Hartwell, Professional Angler Rick Steckelberg.
