Captain Stephen Thompson takes Kendall King age 8 while visiting from Peachtree City Georgia on her first fishing trip! Who does Kendall remind you of? I would have to say “Little Shirley Temple!”

Captain Stephen Thompson of Miss Judy Charters is assisting Kendall King age 8 from Peachtree City Georgia with her just caught gar fish. Kendall along with her mother Mindy and her father Lyman chartered one of our inshore boats for her first fishing trip. Well, it seems that Kendall is a natural! She didn’t have trouble baiting her own hook or catching her own fish! However, some of her fish were a little on the big side so of course she got help where it was needed!

Take a look at the large genuine red snapper that Alli DeYoung of Savannah,
Georgia fought, caught and released while fishing with a live ruby red
lips…Captain Kathy Brown of Miss Judy Charters is assisting! See the rest of this
story in Savannah Snapper Banks section!

While fishing with Captain Matt Williams of Miss Judy Charter this good looking father and sons fishing team had quite a catching day!

Loganville Georgia) While fishing with Captain Matt Williams of Miss Judy
Charters the team had a great catching day! What did they use for bait? Well, the
most popular for this time of the year, which is live shrimp under an “old school”
    traditional cork!

    Artificial Reefs!
Please meet a very interest fishing team: In the yellow Easter bonnet we have real
estate mogul Bonnie Gastor, Captain Kathy Brown of Miss Judy Charters, fish

It a very good time make plans to head out to the Savannah Snapper Banks. The
reason being is you really never know what you might catch while fishing on the
bottom or trolling on the top!

Alli and her father Dan DeYoung

A great father and daughter fishing team!

Please meet Dan DeYoung holding a trigger fish and his daughter Alli! Captain
Judy Helmey is holding Alli just caught triggerfish, which as you can see is the
    larger of the two!

I met Alli’s father when he attended our inshore fishing schools on the water. As
we talked I knew right off that he was not only interested in inshore but also
offshore fishing. And here’s where a grand relationship with the family started.
Dan brought an autographed copy of my book “The Father The Sea and Me” and
sent it to his mother. His mother Mrs. Mary DeYoung, read my book, and then
wrote me a wonderful hand written note stating that she like it! Not only that, but
Mrs. DeYoung said and I am quoting, “I really enjoyed it! It felt like we were
sitting together having a cup of coffee over a fine and interesting conversation!”
And then she said, “Your book gave me an idea, in May my granddaughter turns
13 and she loves fishing! And I was wondering if it is possible for you to take
them fishing?” Of course she had me at father and daughter fishing trip! I called
Mrs. DeYoung and thanked her for her kind letter and also told her I would be
honored to take her son, Dan and her granddaughter, Alli fishing! As Mrs.
DeYoung and I talked, although I had never met her in person and it was our first
conversation, it seemed we had known each other for years!

So when Alli’s May birthday arrived, her grandmother gave her as a gift a 10 hour
snapper banks fishing trip with me! And now this is where it gets ever more
interesting! The fishing trip was set for Thursday June 9, 2016 and believe it or
not, but when it arrived it was a beautiful day on the ocean. We pulled away from
the dock around 6:30 AM and made way to the ocean, which was sporting sunny
conditions and calm seas. As we motored out Turner’s Creek we talked about the
upcoming fishing day and while doing so I was hoping for a serious fish bite!
On our first spot, which I was hoping to catch live bait for the day, the hole was
dry. I marked a few schools of bait, but they were scattered at best! Those on the
deck did their best while dropping sabiki rigs to bottom. However, no live bait was
caught. My father always said, “If you can’t catch live bait then neither can the
fish!” So I decided to just to go fish!

While bottom fishing Alli and Dan caught everything from a vermilion snapper to
a black sea bass to a trigger fish to hog nose snapper to Atlantic sharpnose sharks
to amberjack to almaco jacks to genuine red snapper as well as other bottom biters!
And we had a few things that happened that don’t happen every day! While
visiting “the aquarium,” which is one of my ledges that is located in about 110 feet
of water we encountered all sorts of large sharks from sand bars to bulls. And it
seemed that stealing and eating our hard hooked bottom fish wasn’t quite enough
for these toothy monsters. They must have wanted more, because about 3 sharks
ranging from 70 to 100 began circling us. Then a large cobia came from the depths
and started circling the boat. We threw everything at this fish and it took every
bait from artificial to live to dead! However, before we could set the hook or let
this fish eat it played the spitting out game! While the cobia was cruising around
the boat a school of a dozen amberjacks also known as reef donkeys joined in. So
therefore any bait that was intended for the cobia got eaten by the amberjack. And
when the amberjack started sending off distress signals, well, the sharks joined in.
And all of this was in plain view! Now you know why I named this ledge “The
    aquarium!”

Captain Judy and Captain Kathy watch as Alli brings her fish to the boat. Alli
shows us the prefect stance for fighting a big fish! Now I wonder where she
learned that from! I am going to give her father Dan all of that credit.
Dan DeYoung, his daughter Alli holding her just caught amberjack and Captain
Kathy Brown of Miss Judy Charters..

Alli DeYoung is showing us once again her fish catching stance that really does
    works!

As we made our way home from the snapper banks Alli, Dan, Kathy, and I talked
about a little of everything from fishing to catching! While talking Dan mentioned
that he and his fishing buddies were planning a Gulf Stream trip in a couple of
days! And as soon as I heard I turned and asked Alli, are you going? And she
replied, “He is not leaving without me!” And as soon as she said that I smiled and
once again I thought about my father and all of the wonderful fishing days that we
had shared together! Yes it was a great fishing day for so many many reasons!!
Looking for something interesting to do!

    Daufuskie Island South Carolina!

Another great secret located on the coast! Now this is not a fishing trip it is a seeing trip! It is a must for anyone! For all the grand details I suggest giving Captain “Gator” Gary a call 912 604 1587. He can set up transportation to get you there, golf carts, touring, and dinning! It is a great place and it is only accessible by water! So therefore it is a twofold kind of a situation, because the boat ride is also very interesting!
