Here's hoping you had a Great 4th of July Holiday and enjoyed the Family, Outdoors or just taking it easy with a break from the work place! As we ended June, I fished everyday last week and Adam managed to do a short vacation get-a-way with his Family and then fished a couple of days at the end of the week. June ended almost like it started with LOTS of White Bass action and hooking an occasional Hybrid Striper or Catfish and getting the net out! The Whites are starting to do just a little Top Water feeding activity in the early AM and Late PM , but the consistent bite still comes on the RSR Slabs. We're catching almost all our fish by traveling up the Creek Arms and fishing the Points and Humps in 15'-20' water. The fish are there because the bait is there and also a "thermocline" has set in on the Main Lake making the deep water spots a difficult place to find and catch fish. It will be interesting to see if the Top Water action increases as we move into the Summer, but if not we'll still catch them on Slabs!

A couple of tips as we enter the hot Summer months are (1) Get on the Lake early and catch your fish. We almost always have a nice South Breeze and a pleasant AM on the water. We often are on the Lake at 6AM and back cleaning fish by 10:30AM. By Noon, it's too hot for most folks to have an enjoyable outing. (2) Drink LOTS of Water and Isotonic & leave the Sodas and Alcohol at home. Stay hydrated!
