LAKE RUSSELL IS FULL, CLEAR, 80 S

Bass fishing is fair. There is a good jig bite first thing in the morning just inside the mouth of Beaverdam Creek. These bass are after the 1/2 ounce jigs on a rocky bottom in ten to fifteen feet of water. Also a Carolina rig finesse worm in green pumpkin off of the main lake points and catching a lot of short bass. The south end of the lake is dead right now. The Savannah River and Rocky River are still producing keeper fish too, but finding structure on the ledges near deep water will be the key to bagging a limit this week. An occasional top water bite is not out of the question even with the warm water. Try the eastern side of the rivers first. As the sun comes up, this will be in the shade longer and hold more bass.
