Bass fishing is good and they are on the usual summer pattern, on deeper cover, under deeper docks and on the creek and river channel ledges, humps and submerged road beds, they are being caught on medium to deep running crank baits, 1/2 ounce spinner baits, Carolina rigged plastics, and jigs, the top water bite is still strong on deeper banks and sea walls early and late. 20 plus pound stringers have been winning the tournaments all year, The Bass fishing on Weiss Lake, rivals Lake Guntersville for the last 2 years. The Weiss Lake Improvement Association and Weiss Lake Anglers, will be stocking Florida Strain Largemouth this fall.

Striper fishing is good and they are being caught in the lower Chattooga River at the Cave Hole in Little River and Little Spring Creek, down lining and flat lining live shad 8 to 10 feet deep in the river channel.

Crappie fishing is good and most fish are on the main Coosa river channel ledges in 12 to16 feet of water, and they can be caught spider rigging with minnows. Night fishing is getting good, under lights and over structure, a few fish are still being caught under docks, shooting jigs.
