LAKE ALLATOONA IS FULL, 90S & CLEAR

Bass fishing is fair but it is an early morning bite. Pick a set of points mid lake and run them with 25 casts with a clear Zara Spook Jr. Work the baits fast and get on to the next point quickly. Once the sun is up head to the deep docks. Pick up several colors of finesse worms and use them on light shakey heads. This is a great time to practice with the drop shot rigs with the same finesse worms.
Use the Lowrance DEPTH RANGE in AUTO. After dark, the bigger spots seem to feed very late past midnight. Big June bug Bill Norman crank baits and the larger Strike King night bite spinner baits are the best lures. The 4 inch Senko in bright colors on a Texas rig or with no weight is catching some very large spots mid lake around docks. Pick the docks half way in the backs of major creek, skips the baits under the dock and be sure to have fresh line.

Line side fishing is very good. The stripers, hybrids, and white bass are chasing shad over the entire lake. The fish are holding in 14 to 18 feet of water and down lining gizzard shad will catch these fish early. Use the Lowrance DEPTH RANGE in AUTO. Afternoon storms are still a big concern so be weather aware. Download a weather application just in case. Change up to trolling the umbrella rig during the mid day to late evening. Live bait fishing is good from 3:45 am to 10:30 then change up to trolling. The live bait will kick back in from 6:00 pm to 10:00pm. The lower lake is producing a lot of fish and most of the stripers are in the 10 to 18 pound range and the hybrids are in the 6 to 8 pound range and that is very good for Lake Allatoona.

Try looking for the fish with the Lowrance Structure Scan and Down Scan machines this time of year.
