Lake Cumberland fishing report for sept 20, 2016. The summer boating season is drawing to a close which means great fall fishing days are ahead. Cool fall mornings are my favorite time to be on the water. The striper fishing this summer has been amazing with great numbers of quality 30 in plus fish. A few 40 in plus fish are also showing up.
We are fishing alewife herring from 60 to 80 ft deep on main lake flats and points. They are pretty easy to find most days using good electronics and a little time idling around looking for them.
The bass are starting to feed on top water early and late. And like all year there is a boom of catfish in the lake.
God bless and good fishing
