    Bass
If you get out early have a Strike King Sexy Dawg walking bait and a KVD popping bait tied on. This will most likely be the easiest time and method to catch bass right now. I have been catching bass throughout the day around the matted grass areas on top water baits even if I do not see a lot of surface activity. This will also be the best bet the last hour of daylight. Throughout the day the Strike Kind series 3 crank bait really did well for me around rocky banks around fallen trees. These crank baits perform better if used on the right rod, I've always used Lews bait caster and cranking rods for this. I like to use Lews medium action Custom Lite rods and Lews 8 pound line on their lightweight reels to get the most out of the crank baits and top water baits. Using the wrong set up will alter the action of the crank bait or top water baits I've mentioned. Lews Lightweight products also make it easy to fish with throughout the day. The bigger bass have come off the Sexy Shad Strike King Series 6XD's. I use similar Lews products for the deep diving crank baits but I do like to have the higher retrieve Magnesium speed spool on the Lews 7' Custom pro Speed Stick to get the most action and you'll need these quality products to hold up to the wear and tear of these deep diving crank baits. As the weather gets cooler I'll be transitioning more to the river from the lake below Pickwick Dam in hopes of locating big smallmouth bass.

    Stripers
Striper fishing has toughened up this fall but if you can catch the right size live bait in the river you can drift with them downstream from the Pickwick Dam and catch some big stripers. Early and late in the day you can usually limit out fast on top water baits. The last few trips I have been able to catch stripers busting the surface in front of the Botel on the river channel on the new Strike King KVD Slash Popper. I have used the Stirke King Spit N King and jerk baits to catch these busting stripers as well.

    Catfish
Over the past few weeks we have caught several catfish drifting cut bait. I hear levers and shad guts are very productive baits as well right now from other catfishermen. While I have been fishing in areas no deeper than 30' I hear a lot of fish are coming out of deeper water.

Below is for the papers using information from my gun stores

Sales have been good and people are talking a lot about upcoming politics. This is driving gun and ammo sales for sure. 9mm ammo and 5.56/223 ammo have been the most sold for people that are stocking it up. My 9mm ammo is $12.99 a box of 50 and it is brass cased loaded ammo. The 5.56/223 has been and still is at the moment $6.99 a box of 20 but It may go up to $7.99 a box soon from the looks of whats available for me to purchase. It is loaded brass cased ammo as well.

People ask every day what will happen with AR-15's and other style "tactical" weapons. I have no way of knowing of course but the fact is they are cheaper than they have ever been in the 14 years I've owned a gun store. You can buy a Diamond Back AR-15 that shoot 5.56 or 223 for $499.99 plus tax, this rifle comes with a quad rail and a forward assist and dust cover and metal receiver which is more than the basic features customers look for in an AR. I also sell Colt LE6920's with magpul furniture for $899.99.

The hand gun sales have also been through the roof. On the lower end I'm selling the Taurus PT111 compact 9mm's with 12rd mags for $249.99 and the Smith and Wesson SD9VE's with 15 round mags for $299.99. On the upper end I'm still selling Kimbers better than any other brand by far for as low as $699.99 and this model has the looks and features of $1000+ Kimbers. When available I'm selling the Kimber Micro 9's but you may want to call ahead and ask to be put on a waiting list.
