Hurricane Mathew definitely made an impact of many and has changed lives forever!
Captain Garrett Ross of Miss Judy Charters lost a good friend, Jefferson Davis (1974-2016) during Hurricane Mathew! And has written a something very special ...please read....

As hurricane Mathew approached the Savannah area, I like many others worried about my home, and belongings. Unfortunately we lost something far more valuable than just stuff. Jefferson Davis stayed behind to safeguard our neighborhood and render assistance to our community during and after the storm. He was a US Army Ranger for the better part of a decade, as well as a US border agent after his military service. With numerous deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, I can assure you he had no fear of a storm. Tragically during the worst part of the hurricane he was killed when a massive pine tree uprooted and crushed his home. He leaves behind a wonderful wife, a son named Hunter who turns 6 this weekend, and a beautiful daughter who we celebrated turning 2 years old the Saturday before the storm. While I grieve the loss of my friend, my focus is on providing support to his family. His wife has no husband to comfort her, and no home to go back to. Their family dog was with Jeff and suffered a badly broken leg. Despite her injuries, she guarded his body for an unknown length of time until police and neighbors made the discovery. We have the dog in surgery now and are optimistic about a full recovery. The road ahead will be lengthy and costly. Renting a home while repairing the extensive damage to their house as well as funeral costs and the added childcare expenses of the future. Please spread the word. While nothing will replace the loss of their husband and father, I would like to alleviate at least some of their financial burdens and let the family start the process of healing. Please share this to as many people as possible. Every small donation will add up in the long run and is appreciated more than you will ever know. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. –Garrett Ross https://www.gofundme.com/2tcqggk

It is time to purchase a...

    https://www.tidelog.com/
I am always suggesting that all fishermen/hunters keep some sort of a log book. Now I know you must be already thinking who has time to do that? Well, everyone would if they knew how important a log would be to them in the future. Most fishermen and I have heard it all, that they can remember, well some might remember some things, but most likely not the most important parts. For instance... Take the Tidelog book it has some interesting as well as useful information that a fishermen can use to catch fish. And not only that, but there is room to add notes, which believe me in the future will help you in the catching field a lot! After all isn’t that why we fish so that we can hopefully catch?
Right before the passing of Hurricane Mathew, inshore fishing was very good with fishermen catching red fish, spotted sea trout, flounder, black drum, whiting, and sheepshead. Here’s are few before fish catching pictures..
Captain Garrett Ross of Miss Judy Charters even when he is not taking customers out is still fishing as well as catching...the best news is he can prove it.....
Captain Garrett’s family fishing scouting affair!
Captain Garrett Ross of Miss Judy Charters and his father Philip Ross holding a nice red fish also known as a spot tail bass, which was caught as well as many more while on a family fishing scouting affair!

Stella Ross (Captain Garrett Ross’s daughter) is showing us that there is a very good red fish and spotted sea trout bite taking place. The bottom line is this, “It’s time to go fishing!”

Captain Kevin Rose Kevin Rose of Miss Judy Charters is holding up a nice red fish that he caught while using live shrimp as bait and fishing in a much secret location!

It was an AM kind of catching deal! While fishing an outgoing tide Captain Garrett Ross of Miss Judy Charters showed Karen Rice and Greg Brown the catching way. While using live shrimp as bait the fish down under took advantage of every cast. So, I am reporting that on the morning of Tuesday September 27, 2016 that they fish preferred the top of the outgoing tide. Now, if you were keeping a log book these are notes that you could add to you Tide Log Book! https://www.tidelog.com/

WOW! Captain Garrett Ross of Miss Judy Charters took Karen Rice and Greg Brown (both fishermen are from Atlanta, Georgia) for a little inshore fishing. And as you can see, it turned into quite a catching day! According to the report received from Greg the morning bite was right on time with them catching almost every time they made a cast.

Looking for something interesting to do!
    !
    Daufuskie Island South Carolina!
Another great secret located on the coast! Now this is not a fishing trip it is a seeing trip! It is a must for anyone! For all the grand details I suggest giving Captain “Gator” Gary a call 912 604 1587. He can set up transportation to get you there, golf carts, touring, and dinning! It is a great place and it is only accessible by water! So therefore it is a twofold kind of a situation, because the boat ride is also very interesting!

    Savannah Snapper Banks
Well, I got to fishing offshore....however it was not calm but fishable...I do still love my job..because if I didn’t I would have had to quit a long time ago....We fished offshore at the Savannah Snapper banks and caught a little of everything from amberjack to grouper to white grunt to black sea bass to trigger fish to vermilion to some of those fish we don’t normally see such as soldier fish (considered a tropical fish) Popeye snapper ...so I guess this means the fall time bottom fish migration has started!

Do I try it or do I not! I say “YES!”

If you have been following by fishing reports you already know that I am a strong advocate and user of the Electron Fish Attractor. But of course there are those fishermen that either don’t believe or just don’t get it! Well, I am a believer and I do get it, because catching is my business for sure! As you know I have been taking people fishing for over 51 years and I do know how to catch fish. However, it always helps to get a little extra outside assistance especially when it comes to catching! After all that is what fishing is all about! Heck, the tackle shops and the web are full of beautifully colored and different sizes/shapes of all kinds of lures. When it comes to a lures picked these days I truly believe it is more about the fisherman than the fish. After all and I have said this many times over, a lure will most likely not work if the fisherman using it doesn’t believe in it.

The fish attractor is neither a lure nor bait. It is merely an addition to lures or baits that you are already using. And as a fisherman I already know what I am using as a lure or baits already works. However, if you want to add to your already so call prefect picked lure or bait I suggest giving the Electron Fish Attractor a try!

Just so that you know, I am on the Pro-Staff team at www.lifesparkfishingtackle.com and I am proud to be a member! After reading the above if you are still not convinced you want give the attractor a try here are a few suggestions that just might change your mind...first go to the web site and give it a good read...and check out the magazine article that is in http://canadianoutdoorsmanmagazine.com/index.html this is a free online magazine, which to subscribe all you have to do is add name and email address...and then open the current Fall 2016 magazine...to around page 58 for angler’s X Files “Dare to Believe, Part 2..Understanding the 6th Sense! This article helps explain a little better the just of the electron fish attractor. (If you missed part 1, look in the 2016 summer issue.) This article helps explain a little better the gist of the electron fish attractor.

The same article is being published in the http://americanoutdoorsman.ca/#!/page_home, which will be available in the next day or so. Look for the fall issue. It is a much easier read!

You can certainly read all of this and come to you own conclusions or you can just take my word for it. It is a known fact that fishermen are known for not exactly telling the truth when it comes to the size of fish caught/lost or how they caught them in the first place. But in this case I feel this way; I am going to share this information with you! Yes I am fisherman, yes I am seasoned, yes I am proven, and so now are these fish attractors!

Thanks, Captain Judy Helmey Miss Judy Charters Savannah Georgia

Little Miss Judy Believe It or Not!

Way back in the old days, during a hurricane, my father would anchor all of our wooden boats out in the creek right out in front of our dock. Since back in these day float switches for pumps had not been invented. Or if they had, this information had not reached my father. When it was time to man the pumps, he would take our 13 foot row boat powered with my 31/2 horsepower Evinrude and visit every boat. It was my job to watch from the kitchen window. I can still see my father now with his dark green rain coat/black boots boarding the large boats from the small rowboat. Although this was a challenging defeat I can’t say that he ever fell overboard.
1979 Hurricane David and 2016 Hurricane Mathew!
Well, there is no need for me to show pictures of the devastation that Hurricane Mathew has caused the east coast. There are plenty of pictures posted on many places that show all of the vast damages! But here’s what I do would like to share!
During the 1979 hurricane David my father and I stayed at our house on Wilmington Island. According to my father since he had never evacuated he felt confident enough to stay behind. Well, I could not leave him so I decided to stay also. After taking all the pre-hurricane precautions such as tying boats up and securing all things that could take flight we hunkered down.
According to my father he had all supplies needed for this weather event. Did I check his supplies? “No I did not!” I would like to list in detail his so called hurricane supplies: Let’s see, if memory serves me, my father he had a half of loaf of sunbeam white bread, which had only some mole. So therefore, picking through each piece of bread, since there weren’t that many, wasn’t a hard task. And believe me throwing any of it out wasn’t too much of an option. My father then pulled out two cans of Van Camps pork and beans, which was good with me for sure! The reason being is that we had pork and beans on the boat all of the time! There was also a half jar of Skippy Peanut Butter and a half a gallon of whole milk. Our kitchen also had a big pantry, which was stocked with all kinds of can goods. So we were good with it came to eating out of a can. My father had also visited Lester Claxton’s Piggly Wiggly, where you could purchase some of the prettiest red delicious apples I have ever seen. When it came to picking out apples, my father was the best. This all boiled down to your chances are less of seeing half a worm after your first bite! In the alcohol department we had a fifth of blended Windsor Canadian liquor and a quart bottle of Sprite. All in all after thinking about it, Daddy was somewhat prepared, at least in the food/beverage department!
As David approached trees started falling everywhere cutting our power quickly. At this point, we only had trees down in the yard and in the driveway, which wasn’t too bad. After all we were still in the house high and dry. And then we heard a large cracking noise which got closer and closer. And when the crashing stopped we had a large oak tree lodged in our living room. So for the rest of the storm we had water pouring into our house and it most likely would have spread everywhere, but the large hole in the floor allowed it to flow out. At this time, both of us knew exactly how lucky we were to have not being injured by the falling of this tree. So this is where the serious being nervousness started with us listening to every outside nose made. All in all we made it through the storm with neither of us being injured. As far a property and dock damage we had plenty. And after that storm I said I would never sit through another...well...

Upon the evacuation of the all areas east of the Wilmington River I made the decision to stay. For me it was all about getting back home after the storm that guided this decision. Since I am writing this you already know that I made it through the storm. However, after seeing all the devastation that took place due to the high water and continuous high sustained winds that Hurricane Mathew delivered I knew at that moment that I must have had a guardian angel!

And this is the question that everyone is asking..Will I stay next time? Well, I got to tell you this; most likely I will join those that are heading west to escape the path of the storm!

    Thanks for reading! Captain Judy

    Thanks again,
