I've enjoyed the outdoors and fishing for as long as I can remember. It was a way of life and still is to this day. Now I run my own guide business and fish tournaments across the country. If your looking for a good, laid back, fun time on the water or some serious learning give me a call or drop me an email. I fish Kentucky and Barkley Lake along with winter trips on Lake Okeechobee.
It was good to get back down to Lake Okeechobee or the Big O as it is frequently referred to. We had a great November with good numbers of fish being caught around the lake and some really big fish thrown in the mix also. From what I experienced and many I talked to we did see a really strong push for the spawn. That being said the full moon coming up on the !4th of December should be lights out fishing as we've seen already the past few days crazy numbers of fish being caught and some really nice females setting up to go in and doing their thing. Wild shiners are the deal as it is most of the time in FL but there has been some descent catches on artificial lures also. We had or first major cold front the 3rd week of November that toughened up the bite for a few days but water temps have climbed back up and the fish have the feed bag on. Artificial baits that have been catching them Outkast Tackle swim jigs, Big Bite Baits swimbaits and stick worms have been awesome and punchin a 1.5oz Bag5Baits tungsten flippin wgt paired with a 4/0 Gamakatsu heavy cover flippin hook with a yodaddy craw you just might get your arm broke. Get in-touch with me if you would like to book a trip December is filling up and getting calls for January.
