The New Year is taking up right where 2016 left off. I have been fishing Lake Okeechobee for over 35 years and have seen many up and downs in the fishing. I am hard pressed to remember many years where we have caught as many big Trophy size bass every single day as we have this season. Not only are we catching Big Fish we are catching large numbers of fish. This season sort of kicked off with the Super Moon in November, we had an epic day with 2 boats sitting in the same close proximity catch and release 21 bass over 6 pounds with the largest of the trip being a 9lb 14 oz giant. All these fish fell prey to a very large active live wild shiner. We have the advantage of having the lakes best shiner catcher getting bait for us he not only knows how to catch it, but how to handle and prep it for use by our guides/clients. Many bait shops are charging 20 dollars or more for shiners, we are still at the same rate we have been for 10 years, $17 per dozen. If you are looking for a fishing trip that you will remember the rest of your life, come visit Lake Okeechobee and spend some time fishing with us. We are catching large numbers of fish daily using artificial baits as well, but the bait of choice this time of year on Lake Okeechobee for a giant bass, is a live wild shiner. Thus far the water temps are still near 80 degrees on the Big "O", and the fish are driven to feed constantly as the water cools more and more big Bass will move in to spawn, don't miss your shot at the Trophy Bass of your lifetime, day in and day out nowhere produces more big Bass thasn Lake Okeechobee does, check our website for additional info:
