  • Savannah Fishing Report - GA

Dallas Hunter Savannah Georgia is holding a nice red fish that he caught while the winds were howling and storms were pending! The bottom line is you can’t keep a good fisherman down!

While fishing with Captain Matt Williams of Miss Judy Charters Bill, his son Dallas, and his father Al has a great time! It wasn’t the perfect weather day either. During the early morning we were all trying to decide whether or not Captain Matt should leave the dock. The winds were howling and there was a pending strong line of showers moving in from the North West. As soon as I talked to Bill, he quickly decided to go. And it does seem and we both agreed every time Bill leaves the dock the winds are howling! It is his signature weather event! And here’s how it went....after departing with Captain Matt...They searched for the perfect fishing spot, which was out of the wind. Well, Captain Matt found it; they caught quite a few fish, with Dallas catching the biggest red fish. I was watching the weather from the house and Matt was keeping an eye to the sky! After taking a quick look at the radar on their phones it was then decided it was time to make a run to the dock....once back, I met them, took a few quick pictures, and then Captain Matt hurriedly cleaned the fish. As he was finishing up, we all felt drops of rain and then that line of showers/storms we had been watching was now upon us. We all rushed up from the dock and the Hunter fishing team of father son, and grandfather got in the car with a bag of fish fillets! And off they went in a direction to find yet another adventure!

    Making Fish Catching Magic!

You might call this application fish catching magic!

Now here comes the rub....These attractors do exactly what they proclaim, they really do attract fish. And the best news it that they can be added to any kind of jig or bait! So really it doesn’t matter whether you are bottom fishing or trolling (inshore or offshore) adding this attractor attracts a better fish bite! I have added electron fish attractors to all of my bottom rigs. http://www.lifesparkfishingtackle.com/ I know it is hard to believe that these small attractant do work. However, I remember when a lots of different kinds of lures that we thought would not work, but they did.

When making any rig slide on fish attractor first, then slide on the plastic ball, and then the hook!

For inshore we are still catching the Savannah Slam, which is red fish, spotted sea trout, and flounder....We are also catching sheepshead, black drum, and a few whiting! Best bait for all fish is going to be live shrimp, but if you can get it, mud minnows will work! For those fish that prefer to eat something wrapped in a shell, purple back fiddlers are going to be your best bait.

    Artificial reefs

Short boat rides to big fish!

The offshore artificial reefs continue to amaze me for sure! Heck, there is plenty of catching to be had, that is, if you just keep looking! We are catching sheepshead, black drum, flounder, black sea bass, ocean perch; trigger fish, and trophy red fish as well as other bottom biters. The best bait to use on the bottom is going to be squid. I have never met a fish that didn’t like this stuff! I guess you could call it the universal bait of all times!

A happy recreational fisherman and is nice trophy red fish!

While fishing with Butch Willis Statesboro Georgia and Kyle Sheed Brooklet Georgia, 11 year old Fischer Hill of Brooklet Georgia caught, fought, landed and released this 38 inch trophy red fish while plain old bottom fishing at the artificial reef KTK. What was this fish’s bait of choice? A fiddler! Congratulations Fischer, nice catch!
