  • Lake Allatoona Fishing Report - GA

LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 11.2 FEET, 50’S & CLEAR

This report is from Matt Driver.

Bass fishing is fair bit another cold front is here. Start the day by fishing main lake points and flats with a Spro McStick Jerkbait in Spooky Shad Color. Be sure to fish the bait very slowly to attract bites. As the day gets warmer, move to the backs of creeks and coves and cast a jig to any cover. A black and blue jig with a blue chunk seems to be working well. If the fish are not on the banks in the creeks, fish the middle of the creek with a Fish Head Spin or a Bandit 300 Crankbait. Use a slow stop and go retrieve. The best crank bait colors seem to be in crawfish or chartreuse and blue patterns. Allatoona bass are still being caught on the Float n Fly and Spro McStick jerkbait, as well. If the weather pattern changes toward the end of the month and water temperatures drop, expect bass to pull out to deeper water and suspend until conditions stabilize. If this happens, the drop shot, Big Bite Shaky Squirrel jig head, and the A rig bite will pick up.

This report is from Robert Eidson.

Line side fishing is good. But we have another cold week ahead. The hybrids can been found busting top water most mornings near the s turns. These fish are finicky some days live bait is the ticket. The next day it maybe a spoon. Be sure to carry both. Mid lake seems to be holding better numbers of fish then the south end and the north end but all the creeks on the lake will produce line sides right now. Shiners fished on free lines and planner boards are producing better then trout and shad right now. Remember to down size your hooks to match your shiners for more strikes. After the sun comes up switch to pulling umbrella Rigs. I have had my best luck this week pulling my rigs 145 feet behind the boat at 3.1 to 3.4 miles per hour. As the lake starts to clears the umbrella rig bite will get great.
