  • Lake Allatoona Fishing Report - GA

LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 11.2 FEET, 50’S & CLEAR

This report is from Matt Driver.

Bass fishing is good. Water temperatures warming into the mid 50s have got the fish shallow. The shallow running crank bait or square bill bite is good as well as the chatter bait. From the looks of the forecast I don't see a whole lot changing due to consistent warm weather patterns. We have seen fish begin to stage just like they would if the spawn was right around the corner. Even though we are about three weeks to a month out from the Spawn. Has also been a good jig bat in the mid range from 8 to 12 feet. These fish are very aggressive and are ahead of schedule by serval weeks.

Line side fishing is good. There are fish mid lake and at the Allatoona creek arm. In the early morning we have seen some top water. We are catching a few with shad imitation jerk baits when they are on top. The fish can be found around schools of bait. The mouths of creeks have been the most productive for us. Flat lines and down lines are working well depending on the depth of the fish. We have seen some huge schools of hybrids. When these fish pass underneath the boat doubles have been a common occurrence. Fishing on Allatoona will only improve into March. As the water temp increases. This is a great time to be on Allatoona, the hybrids are fattening up and feeding well for the spawn.
