The winds continueto blow in April along the Treasure Coast! While we have been able to getout most days, it has been a challenge on where you might want to fish eachday. Fishing has been good for us in spite of the conditions that Apriltraditionally blow at us. Enjoy the fishing the rest of the month andplan your adventures carefully!
Michael and Wadefound a nice grouper, mackerel, jacks and finished off with a nice slot redfishto make for a fun morning. Roger, Peter, Ken and Kyle found a variety offish to catch. Jacks, sheepshead, croakers and snapper were on the catchlist in spite of a windy day for us. We had a slow morning with Pete andJR, but did manage a few big jacks to bend a rod. Kevin and Brad foundcroakers, sand perch and landed two of three snook to end a good day fishingthe waters around Fort Pierce. Mark, Jack, Jessica and Jordan were backagain this year. Mark started off the day with a big black drum. Jack, not to be outdone, landed a nice snook and the girls caught a variety offish to make for a fun day for all.
There are stillsome sheepshead and croakers around, but they are gradually moving out to theocean. The snook bite has been good around the inlet and bridges. DOA Bait Busters or live bait have both worked well. Redfish have beenhanging under the mangroves. DOA shrimp or live bait can help you find aslot red. Our trout bite has been slow lately. Try the DOA DeadlyCombo when trying to locate trout on the grass flats. Mackerel have beenmoving into the inlet with the tides. There have been some nice sizemacks lately.
Watch the weatherand plan your fishing to make the winds work to your advantage. Gettingout early can let you have a couple hours to fish before the winds set in forthe day. Have fun and enjoy the fishing.
Remember, fishingis not just another hobby....it's an ADVENTURE!
Thanks and GoodFishing!
