LAKE GEORGE IS DOWN 1.36 FEET, 70’S

Bass fishing is good. The fish are in shallow grass and wood and can be caught on a variety of baits. Early and late fish a buzz bait, Pop R, Zoom Horny Toad and spinnerbait for aggressive fish. This pattern will work until the sun gets up on the water. After that, keep the Horny Toad handy, but the main pattern becomes flipping and pitching. Put your bait into the thickest cover you can find that has deeper water close by. The two baits that are working all day are the Zoom Old Monster and the new Zoom Super Hog. A secondary pattern is fishing shallow ledges and brush in 8 to 12 feet of water. The fish are scattered but when you find a school you can catch some nice fish on crank baits and Carolina rigs. On the north end fish Cowikee Creek and the Wylaunnee Creek area. On the south end the fishing is a little tougher, with Pataula Creek and Thomas Mill Creek being the best producers.
