    BASS
I fished the first clear day after the rainy weekend and did very well. Most of the fish we caught was on a Strike King green pumpkin Rage Hog. I Carolina rigged it on main lake and secondary points. My son Tray Talley caught them right along beside me on a Strike King football head jig with the same style Rage Hog. In flat water areas where there is not a lot of surface brush use a Red Eyed Shad or shallow running crankbait. I am still catching a lot of fish on Strike King Series 3 crankbaits in natural colors. Some bigger fish are in deeper water on ledges and humps. I have had the best luck with a carolina rigs in creek channels.

    White Bass
White bass are still easy to catch. If you are after numbers now is the time to go fish for white bass. I catch a lot of white bass on small crawfish colored crankbaits. White grubs are still a favorite among white bass fishermen, if you have caught plenty of white bass you might want to try a chartreuse grub to increase your chances catching a good smallmouth. Most fish are coming off of pea gravel banks in around six foot of water.

    Stripers
A few stripers are showing up right now, I have caught a few but I am looking forward to them biting better over the next week or two. The only way I have caught them have been on deep diving crankbaits or fishing with a spoon close to the bottom.

    Sauger
Sauger can still be caught on jigs or by trolling crankbaits. The ideal crankbait for me has been a Strike King Series 3 in bright colors.

    Catfish
Catfish are in shallow water areas like they are every year to spawn. I have caught them while fishing for other species. To catch these shallow catfish I usually fish with a live worm and float in 3-6' of water.
