LAKE RUSSELL IS FULL, CLEAR 70’S


Bass fishing is fair. The spotted bass are on the move after a good spawn. If you haven t tried out a top water bait yet now is the time to tie one on. The bass are chasing baitfish to the top and feeding on them all day long. Don’t forget that the shad spawn is just about complete and the rip rap rock will hold bass on and off all during the day. As the temperature continues to climb the bass will tend to hold to cover a little longer during the day and will become more active during the early morning and evening hours. Now is a good time to plan an evening/night fishing trip. Not only will you stay a little cooler you will catch a bucket load of bass. The key this week will be to continue fishing the rocky points both main lake and secondary with active baits. Use the baits that have a little more action to them. During the heat of the day stay focused on the heavier cover with jigs and worms. Use the Rapala Shad Raps especially around the rip rap and the Rapala DT10 and DT6 Skitter Pops and Skitter Props for that top water action.
