LAKE SINCLAIR IS DOWN .6 FEET, CLEAR, 80’S


Bass are biting but the top water fishing during early morning has slowed down. There are a few quality fish are still hitting on top. Try 3/8 ounce Lunker Lure buzz bait around seawalls, docks, or any visible cover along the Main River and creek channels. Either white or chartreuse are good along with black during overcast conditions. Spinner baits are still producing, especially on mornings when the lake is nearly full. Try a 3/8 ounce Stanley Wedge with a willow leaf blade in the rear and Colorado blade in front. Solid white or chartreuse white with gold blades should work. Try spinner baiting grass and docks along the main river and creek runs. On the docks, slow roll the bait near bottom around the dock posts. Bass are also hitting soft plastics and jigs around and under docks. Main River and creek points and humps are holding bass also. Medium to large crank baits and Carolina rigs are the ticket here. Idle across the points and humps and look for an abundance of shad showing on the depth finder. Stick to try crank baits first and then go to worms. On the Carolina rig try a Zoom Trick worm on a 2/0 Gamakatsu hook with a 3 foot leader of 12 pound line. The terminal line can be 14 to 20 pound test with a half ounce weight.
