  • Weiss Lake Fishing Report - AL

WEISS LAKE IS AT 0 FEET 4 INCHES BELOW FULL POOL AND CLEAR AND 75-77 DEGREE'S

With the big cooling trend and the water temperature dropping, look for the bass to start moving shallow on the fall feeding pattern.

Look for the Crappie to start bunching up on cover on the main river channel ledges.
Bass fishing is Fair and they are getting very lethargic, due to low oxygen levels and high water temps, most fish are on their summer pattern, on the humps, deeper points and creek and river channel ledges. These fish can be caught on medium to deep running crank baits, spinner baits, jigs and Carolina rigged plastics. A lot of fish are still being caught shallow around docks and brush. The top water bite is good early and late in the day.

Crappie fishing is Still Good and they are biting good on deeper cover and creek and river channel ledges, in 10-16 feet of water. They can be caught Spider rigging with live minnows 10-12 feet deep, over structure.

Striper fishing is Fair and they are being caught at the Cave Hole and Chattooga Rivers, and Little Spring Creek, they can be caught on live shad down lined and flat lined.
Catfish are biting good in the flats on cut bait.
