LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 2.1 FEET, 70’S, CLEAR

Spotted bass fishing is good. Stay down lake and fish shallow early and late on top water and use a Lucky Craft Sammy 85 or 100 on main lake humps and points. Use the American Shad color. Mid day use the Bill Norman DD22 in shad colors cast them right on top of any brush pile in 10 to 20 feet of water. Also Carolina rigged Zoom lizards are strong. Cast to the bank of main lake points and work out from there. Pick several docks, points and reef markers main lake around Kellogg Creek and use all the baits. Also, never hesitate to come back to an areas and try another set of lures in case the fish have gotten picky on the first baits you used. You’ll find some in deep brush, and some in one foot of water. Be prepared for anything but pick a technique and stick with it. Fish a drop shot rig with small worms and fish to 25 feet.

Lines side fishing is far. The rain we got from Hurricane Irma really slow down the bite bit It is finally starting to rebound, the last couple of days we have caught fish on all method's this weeks including down lines, free lines, top water and trolling. Top water has been decent and is producing fish, as well as trolling umbrella rigs. But the down line bite is still producing the best. Mid Lake South has been producing best for the bigger hybrids, but if you are after numbers the white bass bite is hard to beat on the north end of the lake. This is the time of year that you need to be universal and not one dimensional on techniques. Any of these methods like live bait, down lines and free lines, top water and trolling will all catch you fish on any given day.
