LAKE SEMINOLE IS DOWN .7 FEET, CLEAR & 80’S


Bass fishing is good. Early in the morning and late in the evening there are numerous grass beds that are topped out on the lower end of the lake on the river. Any of these grass beds can be good early in the morning for top water and plastic jerk baits. Fish a Spro Dawg 100 in old glory, followed up with a 6 Big Bite Baits Jerk Minnow in white. When fish hit and miss the top water, the Jerk Minnow is hard to beat as a follow up lure. When the sun comes up, the bite gets extremely tough. There is somewhat of a flipping bite, but you can go all day long and only get a couple of bites. Your best bet is to buy some gas and travel as far of the Flint River as you feel comfortable with. The shoals don't start getting bad until you get slightly above Reynold's Sandbar which is about 10 miles above Bainbridge. There is good current up the river and the bass, whether it is largemouth or Shoal Bass will bite better. Up here I would use two baits. A Spro McStick Jerk bait in Blue Bandit works well with a spinning reel and 8lb Sunline FC Sniper Fluorocarbon. A 4 Big Bite Fighting Frog rigged with a 1/2 Tungsten and a 4/0 Gamakatsu Offset Shank hook works well too when bounced up and down off of the rocks. For color on the fighting frog use any bait that looks like a crawfish.
