    Inshore:
The rain and winds continue around the area this week. The water is still dirty and will remain that way for some time ahead. I am seeing some cleaner water coming in the Fort Pierce inlet the high ends of the tide, but it still has a long way to go before the run off is over. There are still lots of mullet in the river being chased by the predators.
I had Amie, Jake, Taylor and Gaige on the boat over the weekend. The weather was nice, but the dirty water made it a challenge. The kids started catching lots of snapper and Taylor ended up the morning with a 22" redfish to top off the day. John and Mike were out with me on a windy morning with lots of rain clouds around us. The guys caught trout, jacks and ladyfish before the rains drove us off the water. The DOA Outdoor Writers Festival was this over this past week. I had Sue on the boat and we managed ten snook and a dozen trout along with several other species, all caught on DOA lures. The sizes weren't much to brag on, but we had plenty action that day. Ethan was out with me on a slow morning. We ran across a ten foot alligator that had washed down with all the run off in Taylor Creek. He seemed lost and hopefully he finds his way back upstream. here has been a good trout bite lately with lots of juvenile fish to be had. The DOA shrimp is one of the best choices for fishing anywhere on the river. New Penny has been our best color for the dirty water conditions. Work your lures slowly this time of year as the water temperatures fall. Our redfish have come while fishing mangroves and docks. There are lots of juvenile snook around the mangroves, too. Look for some tarpon around the inlet area.
