  • Lake Guntersville Halloween Fishing Report

Lake Guntersville Bass Fishing has been pretty strong .. take out the high wind days and its been awesome.. but no joke the wind has been brutal and has messed up a lot of good fishing areas.. if it wasn't for Power Poles then we wouldn't of caught any fish, the wind would push you through the area so fast if you didn't have your poles down, they are worth their weight in gold.
Froggin is just about over but I still have couple of mats that are jammed up with good bass. Been having a blast on topwater and still flipping Net Bait B Bug and swimming a 4x4 Jig.
The bass are on the move and the bait is everywhere. With these cold fronts we have been having in such a short period it has hit the fast forward button and they are trying to get to where they need to be.
I had a special guest a couple weeks ago.. Jason and Evan McMillion .. They won the fishing trip from Fin Feather & Fur in Ashland Ohio. It was a all expense paid trip .. Travel Lodging Food and Fishing.. Pretty sweet prize.. They stayed at the Wyndham Garden that sits right on the lake and enjoyed one of my favorite places to eat. So if your in Ohio and want to see a really awesome store then stop by the Ashland location...
And to top it off Evan caught his Personal Best LargeMouth and it was his 1st lake Guntersville Bass.. This kid is ruined now.. 5-12 lbs
Evans Persoanl Best 5 pounds and 12 oz

Allens New Personal Best 4 Pounds 11oz

Been using the Duckett Black Ice Rod every trip to the lake and I am still blown away by the little things that I feel and this past week with the bigger bass that I've been catching and seeing how it loads up and handles during the fight is absolutely awesome. This line of rods will be on everyones wish list...

    The Fear of Calm Days

There are probably no worse conditions to fish in than the days where it is dead calm; the problem is the summer is generally full of these calm days and it adds to the summer time stress of catching fish. No wind, clear water, hot summer time temperatures generally add up to... read more

    Summertime Bridge Fishing

As we approach the summer time bite bridges become an excellent target for the summertime bass; bridges can be as rewarding as any location on any large river impoundment. There are many reasons that this is the case and we will explore some of those reasons.

    Three Keys to Ledge Fishing

As working the ledges on these huge Tennessee River Impoundments keeps becoming more popular; the offshore bite on the ledges is front and center for many anglers. My belief is it takes a few important keys to be successful on the ledges and of course some luck, also.

Late Spring Fishing Roundup Kentucky Afield

Kentuckians cannot complain about a lack of rain this past spring. It seemed to rain every other day in March and April.
It is a mild miracle the horses running in the recent Kentucky Derby did not sink up to their knees while standing in the starting gate. The 2.31 inches... read more
