LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 3.1 FEET, HIGH 60’S

Bass fishing is fair. The weather will slow the fishing until mid week. Find the shad and this is when the Lowrance Structure Scan Side imaging technology can play a major role in successful fishing or not. Baitfish move into the creeks and bass follow them. Start by fishing main lake flats and points in the midsection of the lake with a spinnerbait with all white blades. Casting a jerk bait in these same areas will also produce fish. As the morning progresses, work your way to the steep rock banks. Cast a Shaky Head or small jig in green or brown colors to these banks. Fish slowly to attract bites. If you like to fish a crankbait, paralleling these same banks with a Bandit 300 in Chartreuse Black Back or Sparkle Ghost will also catch fish. Be sure to use a slow retrieve with the crankbait. When the baitfish appear to be right on the bottom, this is a great time to fish a drop shot. Use a Robo Worm Alive Shad in Morning Dawn color. Be sure to use a 3/8 to ½ ounce weight so that you can get the bait to the fish on the bottom quickly.

Line side fishing is good. The weather will slow the fishing until mid week. Find the shad and this is when the Lowrance Structure Scan Side imaging technology can play a major role in successful fishing or not. Baitfish move into the creeks and bass follow them. The bite is starting to pick up and should only get better as we head into fall. The fish are really starting to move up on the flats and points from Clear Creek north to Little River. Our best bite has been fishing big threadfins just off the bottom on the flats on most main lake points early and then again right before the sun goes down. As we move into the month of November, the bigger stripers and hybrids will start to show up on the main lake. The flat line and planer board bites will start to take off. Middle to large gizzard shad will be your best bet for big fish. If you're after numbers, large threadfins will work best. Fall is one of the best times of the year for spooning. I normally have my best luck on a 1/2 ounce white Flex it spoon fished right off the bottom. November is just around the corner. And is one of my favorite months to fish Lake Allatoona. The summer boat traffic is over, and with deer season being in full swing, not too many people are on the lakes. It's just a peaceful time of the year to wet a line.
