WEST POINT LAKE IS DOWN 6.2 FEET, 70’S


Bass fishing is fair. The lake is dropping and this pulls the baits and the bass away from bank strcture. Early there are a few bass in the shallow water but this is short lived. Spend a little time looking at the points and underwater islands with the Lowrance Structure Scan and Down Scan technology to find baitfish in these area before fishing. This will help narrow down where the fish are. There hasn’t been one particular lure that work better than another. Try everything like the ½ ounce white spinnerbait, Shad Raps, Jerk baits and a 3/8 ounce black and blue football head jig for the active feeding period. After the early bite head to the creeks and fish the long points that feed into the creek. Carolina rigs and shakey heads will work and green pumpkin is the color for this month. A few largemouth are biting better up lake in the creeks. The bigger spots are biting down lake on points and shoal makers. Shakey head zoom finesse worms have been working lake wide and the Wehadkee Creek area is a good all day area.
