LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 4.9 FEET, 70’S, CLEAR

Bass fishing is good. Start the day with the ½ ounce Nichol’s Spinnerbait in white with white blades or white with nickel blades. Fish it in the mouths of the coves or creeks and points. As the progresses fish a ¼ ounce jig on these same areas. Use any green or brown colors tipped with a Net Bait Pace Chunk in Summer Craw to attract bites. Fishing the secondary points on the main lake is also is a good way to catch fish. Cast a 3/16 ounce Shaky Head with a 6” Kerrilious Roboworm and fish it slowly. This bite seems to be better when the shad pull up in the afternoons. Fishing crank baits or small jerk baits in these same areas will produce bigger fish. This will get bigger but fewer bites. The upper and lower ends of the lake are producing good fish. This area has been slower this week. \\

Line side fishing is good and getting better daily. The fall bite is starting to heat up. The north end of the lake is still producing some nice stripers along with good numbers of White bass. The bigger stripers are eating gizzard shad fished on planer boards and free lines both right at sun up and again at sun down. Look for these fish from Little River up to Fields Landing and as far south as Kellogg’s.
The hybrids and white bass are really starting to school and blowing up all over the lake right now. We have seen some big schools breaking the surface from the Dam to the S turns. These busting fish will eat almost anything you throw at them. When these fish go down they will still bite thread fins and small gizzards fish on down lines as well as spoons. Bait is starting to get really hard to net. The water temp was 58 degrees on 11/20/13 early morning and the lights are bring them in to the boat like weeks passed. So be sure to take some with you. Striper Soup has plenty of fresh shad of all sizes in stock. The sea gulls are starting to show up and will make finding the fish a little easier for us over the upcoming holiday break. Remember Allatoona has very few loons. If you see birds diving on Allatoona this normally means there are line sides nearby. Trollers keep pulling your Mack far u rigs 60 120 feet behind the boat at speeds between 2.4 3.1 miles an hour. We have some days open next week. Please give us a call at 770 827 6282 if you would like to book a trip.
